Eye conditions are not only a challenging experience for the patients but also for the people around them. Eye conditions bring lifestyle changes, and, in some conditions, there is dependence for assistance. According to the World report on vision, eye conditions and vision impairment are widespread, and far too often they still go untreated. Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a vision impairment, and of these, at least 1 billion people have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed.
While eye conditions such as cataract and refractive errors are the main causes of vision impairment and blindness, we must not overlook eye conditions, such as dry-eye and conjunctivitis, which do not typically cause vision impairment, but can do so if left untreated.
